CHAMPIONS and also CHAMPIONS

27 July 2026

Riverside have won both the Division 1 and Division 2 titles this season!

Our Division 1 and 2 players show off their new flags

Division 1 showed up all season and have proven why they were always the big threat in one of the most competitively even pennant seasons in recent times. With very worthy opponents in the final, it certainly went down to the wire. With all but one match finished, the contest stood at 2-2, with Brendan Rowse vs Darryl Morgan ongoing. It is hard to even imagine playing 41 holes to decide a match without the ups and downs, and the confident moments of ease becoming hard 2-foot putts. Rowse did what Rowse does, rose to the occasion, sunk a putt on the 41st hole to mount unbearable pressure on Morgan to take it one hole further. It was enough and emotions ran wild. Riverside are once again raising the flag!

Well done to Red Cliffs Golf Club for not only being there with us, but for putting on one for the ages. What a show.
Division 2 also had a bit of work to do, but stood strong as expected after not losing a contest all season long. There were thoroughly tested, but there was no stopping the force that is Div 2 Riverside to make it 3 on the trot! An absolutely incredible achievement and they have no intention to slow down.

Commiserations to our Division 4 team who narrowly missed out on taking their final out against a very dominant team all season. Taking that contest down to the wire and finishing 3-2 is a great achievement. Congratulations to Merbein Golf Club on your victory.

A huge thankyou to MDGA for putting on and incredible season and to Mildura Golf Resort for hosting the final. One last thankyou to those who came and support all teams. The atmosphere at the end of the day when two blokes are tired and battling for it all was incredible.
