Riverside Golf Results for w/c January 20th 2025
Riverside will be holding its annual Tankard Dental Summer Open this weekend, February 1st and 2nd, with morning and afternoon time slots. This Open has always been very popular and will fill fast, please contact the Club to book a Tee time.
Monday the 20th saw Lucas Chiswell leaving with a smile, after his excellent 41pts gave him the Win, in front of Oliver Cooper’s 40pts. Balls went to 35pts.
Shaun Hollingworth topped his day off with an Eagle on the Par five 2nd hole.
NTP’s were – 7th – Matt Anderson 230cm and 18th – Lucas Chiswell 316cm.
Roz Nash was the winner of the Ladies nine hole comp on Tuesday, on a nice 22pts, over Bec Olsen’s 19pts.
The only NTP for the day was on the 7th – Adel Dal Corobbo 830cm.
There was also a Junior Bash on Tuesday, with Lachlan Smith’s 38pts landing him a win, over Mitchell Cooper, on 35pts.
It was Stableford for the Men and Visitors on Wednesday, in two Grades.
Claude Dawson has been running hot of late and didn’t disappoint this time, using his fine 38pts to collect the A Grade win, over Tom Colbert’s 37pts.
Wayne Innes was pleased with his win in B Grade, making the most of his 36pts. Ken Upton came out the better in the count back for second place, when he and Xavier Erskine carded 35pts. Balls went out to 34pts on a count back.
NTP’s were : 4th – Dean Vance 290cm, Cookes Pools and Spa’s 7th – Tom Wilkinson 278cm, 12th – Marty Scott 980cm and Good Deal Tyres 18th – Michael Holcroft 126cm.
Lyn Delmenico had a lovely day on Thursday, in the Ladies Stroke event, with a comfortable win, after her (99/69), from Pat Riordan’s (96/74). Balls went out to 78 nett on a count back.
NTP’s were : Zilzie Wines 4th – Lyn Delmenico 650cm, 7th – Janette Mason 595cm, 12th – Pat Riordan – a Birdie and 18th – Janette Mason 18cm.
Friday’s nine hole Medley Stableford needed a count back, which handed Chris Romeo the win, over Bodan Bishop, both on 22pts.
Saturday the Men were contesting their Monthly Medal, which needed three Grades.
Larry Cavallaro had a terrific score of (79/71) and was rewarded with the A Grade win. A four was count back saw Alex Spooner (75/72) runner up, in front of Alan Gourlay, Daniel Slorach and David Williams.
Claude Dawson will need a longer belt, as he’s running out of room to notch up his wins. His mighty (82/69) handed him the B Grade win, with another count back required for runner up, which Reece Godfrey (91/72) grabbed, over Luke Bergens.
With count backs the flavour of the day, C Grade winner, Jake Garraway (106/74), used his luck to sneak the win, Ken Upton (94/74) picked up second place and Jack Hibberd was left to ponder. Balls went out to 76 net on a count back.
NTP’s were : Zilzie Wines 4th – Glenn Butterworth 480cm, 12th – Claud Dawson 394cm, Sunbeam Fruits 17th – Alex Spooner 77cm and Good Deal Tyres 18th – Alex Spooner 371cm.
First place went to the team of Mal Kalms, Cooper Kalms and Brent Symons on a magnificent (55.16 net). Simon Dale, Alan McMaster and Daniel Jones came in second, on another amazing score of (55.33 net) and Nathan Darby, Roberto Fuoco and Michael Wade were in third place on a very fine (56.83 net).
The winning team in the Mixed section went to Salli Fox, Stephanie Ryan and Stephen Ryan (Canberra) (63.3 net)
