Riverside Golf Results for w/c January 27th 2025
It was a sizzler on the Weekend, but this didn’t seem to deter a field of over 100, competing in Riversides annual Summer Open. Well done to those who pushed their way around in very tough conditions.
Monday 27th of January was another extreme weather day, with Matt Anderson pocketing a win, after a count back against Kendall Marchment, who was pushed to second place, with both on 38pts.
The Ladies played Stableford in their nine hole comp on Tuesday and Bec Olsen nabbed a win, coming out on top after a four way count back, leaving Chitra Rankin as Runner up, but Pat Riordan and Lauris Hick, missed the cut.
NTP’s were : 12th – Wendy Dawson 200cm and 18th – Chitra Rankin 347cm.
Chris O’brien has been right in the groove with his game of late and he added another win in A Grade on Wednesday, with a terrific (+3). Ashley Robinson’s (+1) snuck him into second place, after a three way count back, with Dean Vance and Michael Holcroft just on the outer.
The score of the day went to Aaron Robson, with his amazing (+5), well and truly in front of Neil Bryant, who had to wait for a count back to hand him runner up, over Goerge Riordan, both on (+1). Balls went out to (-2).
Travis Shawcross played the Par five, 11th hole perfectly, leaving with and Eagle.
NTP’s were : Zilzie Wines 4th – Michael Englefield 90cm, Cookes Pools and Spa’s 7th – Dean Vance 36cm, 12th – Geoff Tandy 435cm, Sunbeam Fruits 17th – David Lloyd 173cm and Good Deal Tyres 18th – Bodan Bishop[ 55cm.
A count back was required to split the top scores in the Ladies comp on Thursday, with Lisa Garioch landing first place and Chitra Rankin following in second place, both on 33pts. Balls went out to 30pts on a count back.
NTP’s were : Zilzie Wines 4th – Lirlene Crozier 1200cm, 7th – Caroline James 450cm, 12th – Wendy Dawson 260cm and 18th – Selma Mayne 87cm.
Friday’s nine hole Medley Stableford was won by Angelo D’Amico on a very nice 23pts and the next five had to battle out a count back for runner up. Callum Wilson was the lucky one, sneaking into second, over Jamie Donaldson, Michael Pitto, Brad Winslow and Jack Hibberd all had 19pts. Balls went out to 16pts on a count back.
The winner of the Ladies Scratch event was Lee Bottomley (Coommealla) (80/86=166), Runner Up – Lisa Garioch (86/82=168). Handicap – Winner – Keryn Neindorf Coomealla) (73-67-140), Runner up – Lisa Garioch (77/73=150) on a count back from Lee Bottomley (72/78=150).
The Men’s Competition was contested in three Grades. The Scratch : A Grade Winner was Jacob Slimmon (70/74=144), Runner up Ash Whitehouse (74/73=147). B Grade – Winner – Max Marks (86/84=170), Runner Up, after a play off, Rob Garioch (84/86=170). C Grade Winner – Jack Hibberd (94/94=188), Runner up Wayne Sievewright (96/94=190).
Handicap : A Grade – Winner Jacob Slimmon (69/73=142), Runner up Alex Spooner (74/71=145) on a count back from Joel Doherty (73/72=145). B Grade – Tony Coppola (73/72=145), Runner up – Max Marks (74/72=146) on a count back from Rob Garioch (72/74=146). C Grade : Winner – Jack Hibberd (72/72=144), Runner up – Gavin Jackson 69/79=148.
The Vets (50+) : Winner – Tony Coppola (73/72=145), Runner up – Rob Garioch (72/74=146).
The Ladies Daily comp on Saturday saw Lee Bottomley winning on a lovely (80/72), in front of Keryn Neindorf (95/73). Balls went out to
NTP’s were :
Keryn Neindorf set the course on fire with her 68 net, after 89 off the stick, to Win in the Sunday daily, from Lisa Garioch (82/73) in second place. Balls went out to 76 net.
NTP’s were : 4th – Keryn Neindorf 43cm, 7th, 12th and 18th were won by Lee Bottomley (275cm, 17cm and a Birdie).
Saturday’s Men’s Daily comp, played in three Grades, was highlighted with the winners of each Grade all rolling in on an exceptional 69 net.
Jacob Slimmon had a terrific (70/69) and Won A Grade, after a count back with Josh Fleming, who took up second place, on an equally great score of (73/69).
The B Grade winner, Rocky Pipicella had a wonderful (82/69), in front of runner up, Andrew Forbes (83/70).
Gavin Jackson was a comfortable winner of C Grade, with a fantastic (93/69), from Jack Hibberd (94/72). Balls went out to 75 net. On a count back.
NTP’s were : 4th – Gary Van Steenis 153cm, 7th – Darren Bottomley 160cm, 12th – Wayne Van Kemenade 355cm and 18th – Andrew Plumbridge 190cm.
Sunday’s Men’s results saw Josh Furey (Coomealla) put together a winning round in A Grade, of an excellent (75/69), with Shaun Hollingworth runner up on (79/70).
Max Marks was the B Grade winner, on (84/72), after a count back with Greg Barila (86/72).
Gary Van Steenis had the top score in C Grade (97/71), in front of second placed Jack Hibberd (94/73), who came out the better, after a four way count back, with Todd George, Wayne Sievewright and Jake Garraway. Balls went out to 74 net.
NTP’s were : 4th – Wayne Van Kemenade 230cm, 7th – Josh Furey 115cm, 12th – Shaun Hollingworth 120cm and 18th – Alex Spooner 461cm.
